I created two separate type specimen posters covering Adobe Garamond. The posters were to include every ligature, ornament, and character as well as a brief history of the typeface.
Since Garamond is both common in both digital and physical publishing, so my two posters are reflective of these two formats.
For the analog poster, I lay text onto a grid of book-sized pages, printed them out, cropped them, and piled them on top of each other. I wanted to replicate the sensation of looking down at a typesetter’s desk. For the digital poster, I aimed to echo the layout of a computer screen from the late 80s.
