Fictional mailing service promotion constructed with steel wire, packing envelope, and Styrofoam

For this project, I was instructed to construct something physical and photograph it for some sort of product. I was looking around my apartment when I noticed that the inner layer of bubble wrap on yellow packing envelopes echoed the pattern of a honeycomb.

I had some decisions to make regarding the scale of the honeycomb, so I created two different honeycombs - one with large hexagons, and one with smaller hexagons. I also created two separate bees - one made from an old stapler and electrical tape, and another made with a Styrofoam ball wrapped in masking tape and strips of black electrical tape. Since I ultimately wanted to highlight the sheen bubble wrap, I chose the smaller bee and smaller honeycomb holes so as to not draw the eye too far away from the texture of the envelope.
